Types of English Springer Puppies I Breed

This sweetheart is a liver and white. She has only a couple spots on the white but likely will develop more. I call pups that are black and white or liver and white bi-colored puppies.

Here I have a black and white. Pure white up its face which has some spots on the nose. It may become more spotted as it matures.

This pup is called a blue roan. The main part of the coat is black and where the white is on the face is blended with the black, giving it a silvery blue hue. Hence the term blue roan. The roaning is a process that can take four to six months and this pup is only six weeks, so it has not completely filled in. It will continue to change.

This pup is a liver roan. You can see the liver color blending with the white on his face which produces almost a silvery look. The legs have some roan as well. Some legs look splotchy instead of spots.

This is a liver tri-colored. He has lots of spots and pure white around the spots. The tan eyebrows and cheeks are the markings of any tri-colored whether black or liver. They will have tan spots on the legs and under the tail as well.

This is a black tri-colored. She has spots on her nose and legs but no roaning or blending of colors.

This is a liver tri roan. He didn’t have much white on his face to start with, but you can see it has filled in with the liver which has blended with the white.  This can create a silvery look.

This is a beautiful blue tri-roaned puppy. They are a black tri with the roaning added. The black with the roaning creates a beautiful silver look.
